Rolls-Royce Holdings plc, the world's 22nd largest weapons manufacturer, supplies engines through its German subsidiary MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH for Israeli military platforms including the Merkava battle tanks (marks 4 and 5) and the Namer armored personnel carrier, with MTU's MT-883 engine powering these vehicles. The company's subsidiary Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG acquired MTU through the purchase of Tognum AG.
